Cherise Richards started her career in radio and broadcasting while in high school. She was a member of the WHHS News Channel 30 news team as a lead anchor, as well as a reporter. She would not only write and deliver the news, but she would also shoot and edit packages to be used within the 30 minute news cast.
After high school, Cherise went on to Tiffin University where she received her BBA in Organizational Management, but a few years after graduation realized that media was her true calling.
Cherise enrolled at the Ohio Center for Broadcasting and soon began interning for Q104’s morning show “Wilde & Fee”. Prior to graduation, she was hired as a member of the Q104 Prize Patrol, and eventually added an on-air shift at Soft Rock 102.1 WDOK. Shortly thereafter, she was added to the Q104 on-air staff, and hosted the Saturday Night “Party Zone” from 7p – midnight. While at CBS Radio, Cherise also filled in for major dayparts, as well as filling in on 98.5 WNCX, was a weekend producer at 92.3 The Fan, and contributed to the promotions department for the four station cluster.
Also during that time, Cherise was an on-air traffic reporter and producer with Metro Networks, delivering real time traffic reports to various radio stations in Cleveland.
Cherise joined Rubber City Radio Group in August of 2013 as a weekend and fill-in on-air talent at 94.9 WQMX and 97.5 WONE. She also provided traffic updates in morning and afternoon drive for all four stations in the cluster including 1590 WAKR and 107.3 The Wave. Cherise is currently the night host on 94.9 WQMX. Weeknights from 7pm – midnight, Cherise brings you new country releases, the latest in pop culture, country music news, and what’s trending.
Cherise Richards was born and raised in Painesville, and has been a resident of Northeast Ohio the majority of her life. She is a wife and mother, loves to cook, plays video games to unwind, loves animals especially kitties, has been told she resembles Pam from “The Office”, and lastly, she has a deep love for all Cleveland sports teams and was at The Q when the Cavs won the NBA Championship!
